new computer

Hey kids....being that I know nothing practical about computers...I may be getting a new computer, but on the computer I've currently got (time traveller, 'e'-series notebook), i have files that i would like to keep, yet are too large to via disk, and already compressed so I couldn't zip them. I was wondering if anybody knew of a way I could transfer them...

the simplest thing i can think of is:
if both computers have ls-120 or a zip drive you can split the compressed files to fit on those
if the files are too big or u don't want to spend money on the drives if u don't have them...
you can always do a quick network hook up on them or connect them with a parrallel cable.
this is what i would do
