guys at least keep it in the same thread.

Now I think you just want to be a martyr. Your not. You posted stupid stuff. Scott already explained it to you, and socalgal RE-explained it to you. Membership has its privilges but also its responsibilites.
Dude, did you not think sysopt can tell when someone has the same ip address? buh bye.

Why does your membership rank or post count matter to you? Is that why you're here, to have a title bestowed upon you? And for what, for your ability to reply multiple times to your own posts?
You don't even live in the U.S. so don't start preaching about censorship. This is a privately owned message board, which is moderated, and has rules. The freedom of speech guaranteed by the UNITED STATES constitution must be filtered through what is APPROPRIATE speech.
This message board is not a free for all and I am not going to stand by while you ruin it. I've been doing this for 6 years now but you can't manage to abide by the rules and policies we've come up with. That is FINE by us, but not if you want to post here.
Scott

Not that I really want involved in this, but I feel a need to restate mine (and many others) opinions on the forums. The forums here at Sysopt.com are to provide us with a place to obtain/offer help, post news, and have the occasional joke. Scott, Joel, Socalgal, and all the other Earthweb Sysopt employees have given us this great place to hang out, and I don't want to ruin this. I feel if someone can't follow the very simple rules here, you need to either conform or leave.
And these forums do allow for a great amount of freedom. The only time you have seen a post locked or removed is when the posting member did not follow the rules/conditions that they agreed to when applying for membership. I understand Scott's position on not banning a whole ISP, as this could punish members that aren't even involved with the problem.
I will also say that this is Earthweb's/Sysopt.com's forums, and they have the right to censor any and all content. This might be a public forum, but it is owned and maintained my a private corporation. I am not for any real censorship, but it is appropriate when somone abuses the policies that he/she agreed to.
My wish with this post is not to offend, but to encourage others to follow the guidelines in place here. Sysopt.com has provided us these great forums, so abide by their rules. If you do not like their rules, I am sure their is plenty of other forums that you can post at. I do not speak for Sysopt.com or Earthweb, but am only conveying my personal thoughts on this issue.

The worst part of these threads is that they push down all the threads from people with real things to post http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif enough from me. I will let sysopt and the crew handle there issues from now on and just enjoy the ride.

ceedee - get your act together or get out, Sysopt.com isn't like any other mediocre bbs forum, it has a family-based kind, caring, and loving atmosphere.
Jacks aren't welcome here, so get with it or get out....

Ceedee and Alan I know the two of you can get over this. Please just forget about it and move on. Sysopt has the right to close whatever threads they wish to and they will continue to do so.
This has happened with many people in the past and will continue to in the future but the majority of people get over it.
If you can not get along with the administration here then all I can recommend is do not post here.

This same issue has already appeared on other forums, and I will follow the status quo. I gave my .02, and plan to forget about this post. I beleive Scott has done a good job a handling this problem, so I'm leaving this alone after this post.

I think ceedee is confusing a right to free speech with a right to be heard.... as do alot of people now days
i think ceedee is an annoyance to this board, i would like to know if he uses aol...
btw, for being here for less than a week, ceedee, you really know alot about us!!

There is really no need for tolerance or intolerance on this forum, that is an irrelevant argument. You don't "tolerate" something you read, in my opinion.
This is a System Optimization Board, not freethinkers.com

I have been following this continuing
"ceedee saga" all along and can no longer refrain from throwing in my .02
It seems like every so often a "member" such as this comes along and does nothing but disrupt this forum. I commend they way such problem people have been handled in the past by Scott, Socalgal, and Joel, and am confident that this matter will also be taken care of in an appropriate manner.
If this was my forum ceedee, you would be labeled "Problem Member" and your post count would get "stuck" at 1. Please stop the disruption, post a valid E-Mail address, and use this forum as it was meant to be. If you share with us an interest in computing and abide by the simple rules of SysOpt, I would be willing to give you a second chance, and hopefully you could become an asset to this forum. Otherwise, please leave.

I agree with Scott and Robrich. But it is starting to look like another Mettalica endless threads going nowhere. If it were me you would be history already Ceedee. I think Sysopt gives more than enough leeway and guidance as to proper etticate on these forums, and even think they are (but shouldn't be) holding back due to some controversy about pitching wonderful "mr contribution" WTF a little while ago.
Nip this **** in the bud.

Well, seeing as this post is at the top of the list, I'm not pushing anyone down the list who needs a computer problem solving so.....
THIS IS GETTING REALLY BORING AND TEDIOUS
Hello
You will always find someone like him (Ceedee) and the best thing would be to ignore him and his comments/posts, and this board will continue to go on and he will sooner or later go away or change his attitude.
Personally (as you probably know) I do not agree with some rules on this board, but because I chose to be member I have to respect them if I want to be a member.

i have been with sysopt for about 14 months now and this is the worst thing i have witnessed, im not condoning what he has done and i dont agree with what the recourse has been, at the end of the day he said a word that offended some of the members, fair enough, but he also appologised for that. it take's a bigger man than most of us to say publicly their sorry for an offensive word.
as for the other argument for him trying to up his post count i dont think that was his aim he posted many serious replys to alot of your posts and maybe one or two he got carried away with, dont we all? and from what i can recall he is not the only one to have done this, and no im not going to drag up any names, but they know who they are.
but to totally ban someone from a forum is a bit much. a servere slap on the wrist's i would have thought more appropriate, no doubt i will take some flak over this maybe even banned but if i believe in something then surley i should have my say on this matter asmuch as some others who have said their piece. now some of you might think to yourselfs why is he sticking up for him, and no its not a brit thing i told him about this site and he is my brother-in-law therfore i wont stand by and see this deformation of character done to him, also by banning him on his IP range you also stop others using this site,
i think this has been blown all out of proportion, i would like to see him reinstated, doubtful i know but still it dont hurt to ask, and im sure that if he was atleast he would know the limits to what this forum will allow.
i think this is a great place to make comments, learn from mistakes, to grow together as a community of people who enjoy computers and the internet...
i will mail a copy of this to scott and ceedee, and hopefully his exclusion will be atleast looked at and maybe we can all let bygones be bygones
i have no beef with anyone here and my above statement is without predudice

Sigh....
I got dragged back in. As Scott mentioned before in a thread that was deleted, "alan" and "ceedee" have the same ip address and posted together within minutes in his other thread.
So uh...if this is true....
shut up ceedee.
i'm glad his crummy posts were deleted. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
thanx sysopt
