Has anyone ever tried to paint their computer case, it gives the comp a whole new look and feel. Be creative. I think I am going to paint my case, that would be cool. I suggest that other people start tring to do this.

I'll post a Pic of my case when I'm done painting it.

After finding a weird looking green keyboard at a sale, I thought I would try something out. I painted an old Pentium system I-Mac green. I mean everything: case, monitor, and mouse!! Then I loaded BeoS, and set the display manager to the Apple desktop look. It really freaked my friends out, because I told them it was Apple's new computer series. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I wish I had taken pics of it, as it was seriously funny looking. Any rate, I feel inspired. I'm tied of looking at my bland beige case. It might be time to finally change that.

Give Outpatient a yell, He has some pics of a computer he painted up, looks pretty cool in my opinion. I hate beige too, thats why the one I built is black.I think he might have the pics on his website. Mp

I have painted my bigtower pitch-black!!!

On the side there is a 25cm large terrorcorps skull in white, so I call it my little tower of terror!!!!LOL

For soon it will house an msi 6153 with a celeronII 533 or 566!!!!
Terror time it is indeed!!!!

BTW, I'll scan some pictures, but I still can't post em, cause I don't have a homepage!!

Ultima, I won't be back until this afternoon. But if you'll send me the pics, I'll post them here for you.

BTW, you can get a homepage from many sources. I commonly use Angelfire for posting my posted pics, since they don't seem to care about using an account for archiving data.

I have been thinking about it too but how about the stuff you have mounted visible like cd players disk drives and stuff. Is it safe to spraypaint them too.

Hey Robrich,

I will try and scan the pics on the scanner of my parents, since mine doesn't work on my athlon system!!!!
When I had it on my k6-2 system, it worked fine, but on my athlon, all I get is green and yellow all over!!!!

I'll try and scan em tonight, so you probably will have them sometime tommorrow!!!

Thanks.

Ohh and Wraith, I don't think it is wise to spraypaint your cdroms.
I'm not sure, but ya can take the front of the cd-rom and then spray it, just to be safe ya know??!!!

Outpatient Thx

I meant the front panels, so that they may match coulor with the case its not very cool having a painted case with grey cd bays in it.

sure you can paint the faces of the devices. It's just kinda a pain. You gotta take the device out of the machine and then figure out how the faceplate comes off (and they all DO come off one way or another).

Then you can paint the faceplates, let them dry thoroughly, and reassemble them.

It'd be real cool looking to have a computer with your own custom colors on it, but what about when you want to sell it? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Ah, we're on the designer cases again, huh? There was a thread around here months ago talking about this. I still haven't painted that Star Trek aztec pattern on mine, but I've been busy moving into a new apartment, so I've got an excuse.

Hey Robrich,

I just sent the pics of my pc case to you!!!
Oh yeah, there is also 1 pic there of how I did some extensive cooling on my voodoo2 cards!!!!
Yes yes, they both look like that!!!
Luckely I've got them in my second system now, cause they would take up too many pci slots in my first pc!!!

I hope you can convert bmp into jpg, for I wasn't sure how to do this!!!

What do you think about em????

Thanks for posting those pics for me, Robrich!!!!

But it doesn't exactly look like that!!!

Ya see the 2 fans in the front???
Well, there are now 4 of them, and in the back I've done some decorating too!!!
That holds 3 fans now!!!

How did it fit?? I replaced my 300W AT SPS, with an atx 300W, which is about half it's size!!!!

Does anybody think this will do for starters for a CeleronII based system???

I repaired a laptop that someone hahd stolen. The woman who owned it wanted it to stand out so it wouldn't be stolen again. We had a talk about it and now she has a hot pink laptop. It was fun painting that one.

I am thinking about painting my new full tower case jet black, then having my friend (really good artist) paint a design on it, like maybe his band logo or something. I dunno, if i do get it done, i will post pics up somewhere so everyone can see. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/redface.gif)
