Use a dull knife (butter-knife?) or the back side of it. You may need to strip the wire prior to pushing it down since it won't be a quick "punch" that pierces the insulation.

Hey guys,
I need to run one little wire on a punch down. Is there a way to do it without a punch down tool? I won't need one after this, and I'm not interested in spending $50 for one, for a one time use.
