Print server question

I have a new smc 4 port barricade router and would like to use it's print sever capitbilites. what I like to know is during the print server set up it ask's for the printers IP addy. does this mean I need to assighn an addy to the printer first? and if yes, how do I do that? the printer is a HP deskjet 842C. right now I have it as a shared printer on the lan between the other machines. woohoo, that was it, thanks. roflol, now I need an apointment to use the darn printer. I didn't relize how much **** my kids could print out from the net. guess I need to dig into the closet and dust off the old 693C HP just for my pvt. use.. thanks again. madfish

Sounds like you need to use the LAN IP address of the router in which your printer is connected to.
