How can I get rid of the window password prompt that shows up during boot-up? I've already searched for .pwl files, but there aren't any. Still, the dreaded password prompt appears? Any ideas? BTW, I'm running Windows95C.

I think that if you change the primary network logon (right mouse on notwork neighbourhood) to something like 'microsoft family member' then you can start the computer without a logon prompt.
If you enter a username and no password when prompted for the first time, it should say 'if you do not enter a password, you will not see this again'.
Alternatively, you could try your existing configuration and enter a new username and just hit OK (no password). See if that worx.
It has been a (thankfully) long time since I had to re-install windoze, so sorry I can't give you an exact answer.

Don't you have to log in to linux??? Hehe... not that I've used it, just seen it sitting there asking for a logon prompt http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for the suggestion, guys. I finally got rid of it by clicking ok, then ok again when asked to confirm. All this time I had been clicking on cancel.
