You betcha!

You won't find a mega, mega difference in temperature, but a few degrees cooler is always nice.

Yep - really works. I first used Rain (1.0) a few years ago for my Celeron 266@400. I had to increase core voltage to run (it was an OEM model w/no cache) and it ran very hot. Rain dropped the temp 10 degrees F. Allowed stable operation for nearly two years.

yes, it does work. how u ask? well, it halts areas of the CPU that is not in use, or idle. in other words, areas in your CPU that is not in use is shut down by rain or CPUIdle. this is good since that area of the CPU isn't on. Due to this, that area is cooled, and your CPU gets cooler. I have CPUIdle, and it cools my CPU 4-5C http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. Of course, when all of your CPU is used, this program doesn't work since it doesn't have to shutdown any areas . I heard that some of these programs make applications perform better, but i'm kind of confused about it. Well, hope this solves your question. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Will Rain effect RC5 speeds?

When your cpu is running at 100%, Rain is not running. Therefore it has no effect on RC5 or gaming etc.
