You can now purchase 61.4GB Maxtor hard drives. I noticed them listed on pricewatch a few days ago. What does one do with that much space? I guess it does have it's uses, but geez that's a lot of space!! Could you imagine defragmenting/formatting/running scandisk on a drive that size!

Might be best suited for a file server in a RAID config.

Fat32 is soon to have a limitation
because I notice cluster size get to 8K in size if larger the 8GIG
so 8.4gig -16.8 = 8K
16.8-33.6gig = 16K cluster Size
33.6-67.2gig = 32K cluster Size
I think it would be best to split it in half
having primary and logical so it be both
16K cluster.
Dont wanna use 32K it can waste so much space that way when you have too many small files of a few K bytes or just too many files.
Maybe Fat64 will fix this eh?
so with 60gig or more you can still have
4K cluster saving lotsa of space.
but then again these cluster themselve
are actually already using up space.

Wow, can you imagine having all your data on that thing and then having a head crash? You could potentially lose 60+ GB of data.

PARTITION PARTITION PARTITION...simple...---------I use my lrg 2nd hd to accept digital TIVO like TV poo/stuff in a dual system w/ the ATI all in wonder 128...
EDIT---> digital TV recording sucks up hd space at a great rate so those 60's are FANTASTIC!!... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Im amazed how they can pack 60gig worth of data into a 3 1/2 drive
same as floppy drive
if the techology are so good there no limit
we can do the impossible what god thought
soon to be 100gig, 200gig, 300gig, 400gig etc
the future hold alot of promising technology it just getting better and better same for
CPU too
not only do they hold more and more
they are faster and faster.

For RAID, youd need at least 2 of em http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif.
