I beleive I am having a very simple problem, but I can't seem to find a solution. I am running Seagate Backup Exec 8.x on a Novel Netware 4.11 server. When I run my backup job and it gets to the end of the first tape, it errors out and tells me that it has reached the physcial end of the media. The tape drive was recently replaced. If I have a job that is only one tape, it runs fine. I can not find any settings for spanning multiple tapes and the job I am using is a job that worked fine before the drive was replaced. I am getting the old "it's the hardware/it's the software" runaround from my vendors and I need help!!!!

thanks!

Veritas is the current vendor for BackupExec. Call them and just tell them you need to know how to set a job to span multiple tapes.

We're using BE on a NW server as well, so I'll look around on it a bit to see if I can find what you need.

Thanks for your help! I was able to contact the vendor you suggested and got some advise that will hopefully work (crossing my fingers as my 1st tape nears the end). I'll update this thread when I know.

the vendor's first suggestion didn't work. trying something else now. I would still appreciate any additional advise anyone can provide. Thanks!
