I am using the @home service in canada and am wondering if there is a way to uncap the limit that the ISP imposes on the modem?
Can this be done and is it legal?
Thanks.

In a word..No..I use @Home in Canada as well. They reset regularly, and all the fixes I have seen are vapourware

uncapping is illegal. why do you want to steal other bandwidth? plus the capping is done at @home network. not on your line or your computer

LOL...
Who wants to steal anything? if it there and its legal then I want to know if I can get it.
Your reply message doesn't make any sense GroundZero3.
If line capping is not done on my line or on my modem or directly on my computer then how can anyone make something illegal that I can't do anyhow?
Anyways, topic for a different post.
Didn't think it would work anyhow, thanks.

okay how about this for a reply. the only guy i heard that was able to "uncap" his cable access was in court last time i heard faceing charges and several years in jail. i don't know how he did nor do i really care but stealing other peoples bandwidth is illegal.

Thanks for the reply, that was a good article. Maybe I'll see what other plans are availble at my location.
