Win98SE, Novell Netware 3.1.0.0
When I installed this system, I partitioned the HD into C:, D:, & E:, and accepted the Netware default of F: as first network drive. Now I need a couple more small partitions on the HD for an app we're running.
Network drives showed up as G: & H:, so I changed the first network drive to H:, mapped J: to the network space that G: was pointing to, and disconnected G:, then rebooted. Now G: & J: both show up as network drives, pointing to the same area.
What am I missing here? How do I tell Netware to stop using G:?

There may be a login script mapping. Check within the NWAdmin for Login Script entries for the relevant container and user.
Just re-read your post...I may have misunderstood...you should be able to open
the "My Computer" icon and right click on the drive mapping, then choose disconnect. You could also map the same driver letter again but do not mark the drive mapping as persistant.

I've tried disconnecting the drive. I also tried remapping and not telling it to reconnect on login. Either way, it keeps showing up again when I reboot.

Did you check within NWAdmin?

I tried that, too, and thought I had finally gotten it. The login script was connecting to G:, so I changed it to use J:, rebooted, and there it was again, using G:, only this time it was mapped to something else (Vol1 on the same server). Haven't seen anything this sticky since that EZ-Drive program that shipped with WD drives. Any other ideas? Either way, I really appreciate the help.

In case your not familiar, search drives may appear like regular network drives. A common setup is to have a specfic search drive take the first available drive letter that is free.
If you can post your login scripts that may help too.
Try this;
When the Novell Login window comes up, go into the settings and tell it not to run a script. This will allow you to log in, but will not map any network drives.
Next, go into windows explorer and map those network drives, stating that you want those mapped on next login.
I've tried this successfully, but for other reasons because I wanted the network drives to map to what I wanted instead of what the computer wanted.
Good Luck
