xDSL connection how fast can you go?

ok I'm getting pretty slow download speeds from my DSL connection... I just got it today... how fast should I be able to download?

is there a program/site to compare speeds?

Click on "Tools", then "Speed Tests".

Using the CA server, my friend on ADSL gets about 1Mbps down. Strange thing is... he ordered the 384kbps service. I guess they upgraded him for free!

i have adsl from bellsouth(local phone company) and i usualy get like 1.2mb/sec downlaod and like 22- 25 kb/sec upload....i kinda depends on the service and how far away u are from the isp(internet service provider) max ive ever seen and adsl go is my 1.4mb/sec i had one time and only one time.....and ull hear but like 4 kinds of dsl: adsl(home use), sdsl(busniess use), and i think hdsl, another i have no clue only one most people can get for home use is adsl
