I have been trying to communicate with my sister using Netmeeting. We each have an Intel PC Camera. The problem is I can hear her but she cannot hear me. The first time we used NetMeeting she was receiving me like an occasinal loud burst, the second time we both were able to hear but this latest attempt was a failure. I could hear her but she couldn't hear me.

We tried everything such as unchecking the full-duplex audio option, checking the DirectSound option but nothing. The only difference in our setup in NetMeeting is the audio option for auto-gain control I can select it she can't. We even tried different servers (ils I think they are called).

As far as making the little videos she can do that with sound as well as hear those I send her. She did mention that everytime she opens NetMeeting the audio wizard pops up but that doesn't seem to be what is causing this problem.

I have a Compaq Duron 800 and she has a Compaq Celeron 633. Both running Windows ME. She connects with her ISP at 50000bps and I connect at 49333bps. When we were able to talk the one and only time she was actually connected at 51000 and I am always at 49333.

Is there anything we can do to get this to work? I hope this is not a lost cause. It is no fun typing in Chat while she talks to me. We really enjoyed it the first time it was working.

Try reducing your audio and video quality. It will reduce your bandwidth requirements and hopefully smooth out your reception.
