Wait for DSL or Get 128 ISDN??

Hello All,
My town doesnt offer DSL yet but the broadband service is slowly (very slowly) catching on here. I am currently using the regular ISDN service which tops off @ 64kbs. Should I wait about a year or 2 for DSL or shall I go ahead and get the 128kbs ISDN? I usually play online games on my computer and there are times in which my I would wish my ISDN would go ALOT faster. ANy input is appreciative.

sadly it all depends on wether you have the money and some patience. sorry i had to use those two words in the same sentance

I would forget about the ISDN. The cost/speed ratio cannot be justified. There is hardly a speed difference between ISDN and dial up. You will save money and get a much faster download from the Satellite modem service from Hughes. Startup cost will be a little more than your ISDN costs, but you will see a difference. Additionally, you can get DSS service from the same dish. I had this setup until DSL came around.

I assume you already checked with your cable company about cable Internet.

if you play online games do not get satilite. 700ms ping just means youll be 0wned by 56kers in any FPS game (aka: counter-Strike)

beilieve me i tried playing on a 700ms ping on starband (2 way satilite internet) not even worth trying.

also with Hughes you will need another ISP (56k)and modem for Upload. i would wait for the dsl.

I say if you get a ping of 180-260 in CS then there's no point gettin ISDN.

but if you spend a lot of time downloading illegal music\porno videos\other large files then you should go broadband.

56k is sufficient for CSers
