Regulating DSL speeds?

Is there a way to regulate your dsl speed for testing purposes? eg. if you have a 256k connection, but you want to limit it to 128k or lower.

if software, recommendations?

Yes there is. But this is only if you are talking about sharing a dsl connection between more than one computer. I know thiere are programs that you can get that will allow you to do this.
