Has anyone experiences of using HomePNA (Networking over standard home phone wires) for sharing DSL Internet connection/devices over LAN.

Has anybody heard any good/bad about HomePNA? www.homepna.org (http://www.homepna.org) if you haven't heard of it.

I found what seems to be a good homepna router from linksys and I think earthlink offers dsl service in my area... now gotta get the thing hooked up!
I'm renting in a townhouse and I really don't want to drop a cat5 cable through floors and housing associations dont like cables hanging out the windows (Silly people lol)

Just want some input to see if anybody has done it successfully!

Thanks!

I have a 10Mbit hub and network mine using the crappy flat telephone wire that my house is wired with. I just carefully added the CAT5 terminations on this four wire cable. You have to sort out the four connections to use, and line them up before crimping it shut. Works fine for the 50 feet or so I'm going. No idea if it would work at 100Mbit, or 150 feet. A computer consultant friend says he has done installations this way to 100-150' or so without trouble.

Hmmm something like that is something I'd have to shy away from with telling my landlord http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif lol

Thanks for the info though, never heard of that approach!!
