hawking pn9225 router problem

does anybody ahve experience with these? I have verizon dsl and i hooked a hawking router to it. i can get on the net fine and i have set ip's for all 3 computers and turned off dhcp for internal lan. the problem is that i cant get my ftp server to respond from behind the router. It works ok using the lan ip but my wan ip wont respond. I have set visible computer to the lan ip address of my server. and i mapped port 21 to the internal server ip. i have re-started and done all kind of other crazy stuff for days and i cant get to it. if anyone knows how to work this router please tell me.
