Just finished watching War Games and TRON. That's good stuff right there. Both made in mid-eighties but are classic movies. Any other geek movies out there?

There are lots of Geek Movies; they are far too numerous to name. Just no one call "Starship Troopers" a geek movie, and I won't have to hurt anyone. I really want MST-3K back!!!! RobRich hd581 05-14-2000, 01:17 PM My favorite part of independence day is where he uploads a virus into a computer system that he's never seen before in his life, which uses an OS he's not familiar with and a programming environment he has no experience with. But hey, he's from MIT he can do anything. Warthog 05-14-2000, 01:23 PM MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! *scull and crossbones* I love that part. hd, it's just a movie http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif. Ziz 05-15-2000, 11:30 AM Well Star Wars is to sci-fi what Johnny Carson is to late night; the standard to which all others are compared and aspire to. But that aside, definitely Back to the Future. I even built my own DeLorean (http://www.culttvman.com/jzdelorean.html)! ...well, sort of... NavyDood_ F/A18_Mech 05-15-2000, 01:26 PM psyklone......... "To many Secrets" ? Ptrper 05-15-2000, 06:46 PM Hey Dominus, personally I thought that Starship Troopers was a poor make on the book Heinlein wrote... If you think that the movie was great, you should try reading the book. In fact the book was very controversial for it's time. I believe it was written in the 40s or the 50s. All you Matrix fans, good news in store. It's actually a trilogy and the next two are not too far in tow. (You know, there are some people that take that movie way too seriously when they wear all black with the trench coat.) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif tonym 05-15-2000, 07:28 PM Weird Science Buckaroo Banzai... RoboCop Big Trouble in Little China And kudos to Dominus for PI. I just love the drill scene!! Geek classics one and all... Tony Biff 05-15-2000, 07:46 PM Tron is excellant, Blade runner too! CMonster 05-16-2000, 01:02 AM I see no one has mentioned "Phenomenon" - I know it's not your typical geek stuff, but I found myself wondering after seeing it - "{do I have a brain tumor?}" CMonster 05-16-2000, 01:05 AM ...and then there was "Lawnmower Man" .. from brain damage to computer hacking... U-96 05-16-2000, 01:06 AM Take four red capsules THX 1138 Now that's a geek film http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif (and Donald Pleasance's best performance) U-96 Szech 05-17-2000, 12:19 AM What about Revenge of the Nerds?
