Well, as socalgal pointed out, there are a lot of post here for IE related problems.
Just as a FYI, if you use IE5, most hardware drivers are really not compatible with it and should not be loaded after IE5 is installed. IE5 will work with most drivers existing before its installation, but if you like to try different software/drivers much, you are probably causing your own headaches.
Some manufacturers like Diamond have released new drivers for most hardware that works with IE5.
