I'm checking on this for my father. He has Southwestern Bell DSL service and a Speedstream 4060 modem. The problem is every time he goes to shut the computer down it locks up on him. If I disable the modem driver everything seems just fine. Anyone encountered something like this. SW Bell says to just leave the computer on. He tried that and when his computer goes to sleep it locks up.
Any thoughts?

is he using the internet 300 software for PPPoE ? if so then he probably need to update it to the latest version 1.5
version 1.3 has a problem running on Win ME
