I have just begun to use Ghost, but I'm considering stopping after reading, this, look under the date 5/14/2000, under the heading Steve's soapbox, (this is from one of the leading authorities in Digital Camera's, well respected by the Digital Camera industry) http://www.steves-digicams.com/diginews.html

Personally, it sounds like coincidence to me...but ya never know I guess.
I've used Ghost frequently for quite some time now without ever suffering any ill effects. We use it at work too, and out of the tens of thousands of images we have made and restored, we've not encountered this issue.....at least none that we would attribute to the Ghost software.
Anybody else?

Mine has been crashing lately too, after I installed all my games in separate partitions I tried to ghost my windows files and it crashes when I enter the file name that names it. Ghost sucks sometimes.

Now that I think of it, the only issue I have ever had with Ghost was when I was trying to create a disk image in the same directory I was running Ghost from......DOH! My bad.
Otherwise, its been great
I have had trouble getting ghost to create an image of a partition which is larger than 2G. It seems to work fine with FAT16 and 2G partitions but not anything else however, it certainly can see FAT32. While looking at the ghost website I found it doesn't support Ultra DMA hard discs but this is no reason why FAT16/2G works. Has anyone encountered this problem?

I don't know what version of Norton Ghost you are using but it I'm using v5.1 and it will support partitions larger than 2G, but it does this by breaking it up into 2G chunks, I have 2 ATA 66 hard drives and I have been using Ghost for about 6 months or more and have had no trouble, I just read in the link I posted earlier about HD failures after repeated use of Norton Ghost and wondered if people that have used this program more than I have, had experienced any hard drive failure. He's a link to a Tech Support document that talks about partitions larger than 2 G (among other things).
