At the company I work at, about once a week the network slows to a crawl when it comes to internet access.I restart the router(CISCO) and this takes care of it. Is there something I can do to stop this from happening again and again?

That sounds like a good question to ask Cisco.

Curious. Are you sure it isn't an ISP problem? Can you see anything in the router of the traffic level? There are a few commands you can do on about any router to show the status:
sho int s0 (if it is interface serial 0)
sho proc cpu (anything over 50% is bad)
sho buf (lots of misses are bad, especiall in the mid and big buffers)
sho mem (largest free is the key, you should have at least some free)
If none of this turns up anything, try rebooting the router every evening and see if that holds the problem off.
Let us know.
