Abit Slocket III - good heatsink mounting space, stable overall.

I went for the IWill b/c it is a bit smaller but they are pretty close in stability from what I have seen/heard.

just about all slockets are equal, set apart only in terms of things like voltage adjustment, FC-PGA compatability, and stuff like that.
As long as you get a brandname one (Iwill, Abit, MSI) Stability shouldnt be a problem.
Even most of the noname ones are about on par with stability (I wouldnt pay money to find out tho)

I just bought an ASUS "Smart Slot 1" slocket, its stable, and supports both celeron (1) and coppermine CPUs, plenty of room to mount cooling. I do think its worth the difference in price to buy a "name brand" slocket.

Abit or iWill, they both mount really tight in the slot and are stable..............the abit slocket may be a bit more stable though............and I have seen a couple of mobos that the iWill does not work on properly............I bought the abit.

No prob WTP http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Anytime!

I'd say the SlotketIII is best 'cos it allows you to use PPGA or FC-PGA (PIII) chips in it - plus you're guarenteed to get a flat plastic lever on it - great for large heatsinks.

Good luck!!

ps - Yep, I'm 13. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
