Hi,
I got a problem with my new system and windows/my nic. Problem is, when i boot my machine, (while the other machine that i connect to is on), my mouse flickers, so i hit ctrl alt del and have to end task on msgsrv32.exe. I dont get this prob when the pc i connect to is off, or if i remove my cable from the wall. The problem also appears when my pc is on, and then the other pc is turned on. The nic is a linksys homeline card, hpn200 is the model number, part of the kit hpn200sk.

Let me know if im not explaining myself properly. Tech support at linksys are great but couldnt help me. Maybe you guys can!!!

I have all original drivers except for the AGP ones. The wierd thing is that the network operates fine after i quit msgsrv32.exe, but my pc wont shut down or restart if i end msgsrv32 when i boot.

Cheers

Karl

P.S I have onboard sound and no cmi8330 chip!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

As far as I understand, the problem is that your mouse flickers and the only way to correct this is Ending task msgsrv32.exe. But, when you do this you cannot rebbot or shutdown your PC.

If I don't get it, correct me.

So, I think you should tell us if you use a USB mouse or a PC/2. If it is a USB, then maybe there is a conflict between USB and your NIC. Check for conflicts in the Device Manager.

Keep us informed.

yep, my mouse is USB. I could try rebooting with a ps2, but it would still load the usb drivers, even without the mouse plugged in??

Cann't you simply reboot wht a PS/2 mouse and then remove the USB drivers? It will take some reboots, but if you don't plug again the USB mouse I doubt if it will load its drivers again.

By the way, booting with a PS/2 mouse solves your problem?
