Print Servers spool file is on a full partition...

What do you think of the print server having its spool folder point to another computer rather than c:\winnt\system\spool to \\server\folder\

One of these days I'm going to learn that it's best to leave certain services on one box. Thanks again guys. By chance would you guys know what the files are that get put into the spool\printers folder? The file extensions are .shd and .spl I would assume that after a while these files are ok to delete. One more if I may. Any ideas why printers delete from the printers folder. Sometimes a refresh will bring them back but usually it requires a reboot. Thanks for the feedback.

I think that would add a lot of network traffic. Why not just pop another hard drive into the server box?

that would not be a good idea you are increasing the network traffic but you are also increasing potential downtime. You will now lose print services if either/or machine is down

I haven't figured out the printer disappearing bug but have seen it from time to time. Which service pack do you have installed? You can delete those spooling files, but not while anyone is printing http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I would take the server off-line first.
