What are the security risks involved when port 1138 is opened on the proxy
server? The proxy server is behind a firewall.
Running Proxy Server 2.0 on an NT4 (SP5) machine.
If you guys can point me to reference sites for this kind of information, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I can't think of any service that commonly runs on port 1138. Based on what I know, no more of a risk than any other high port being open on the proxy. Of course removing the proxy service for that port would be best if it wasn't needed.
If you have it open for a certain application to listen on, then the security risk lies within that application.
FYI: the port needed to be opened so a user can do online banking... what do you think ?

If you mean an outgoing proxy then that shouldn't be any problem, especially if you designate the port 1138 service is mapped to the banking's host.
