Right on..
I just finished my first semester of a CCNA course. It's going kinda slow,so I am going to cram and take my test before the end of July.(hate my current job http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif ). I have been out of school for about 15 years, and you might feel a little weird at first, but it quickly goes away. I've also found that it is ALOT easier to maintain focus at 34 than it was at 17-19 years old. Have fun and good luck.

Good luck eh cyclone, I think it will be easier than you think!

24AS (After School) years later and I am possibly right behind you - when I finish my current course of home study I will look into the local community college or DeVry. My son starts DeVry in July (hey that Rhymes http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif ).
The college girlies sure look a lot different to eyes that are older...... how distracting! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
Good luck Cyclone
I'm near enough to 50 and went back to school 3 years ago to study PC support. When I was young, school was a pain in the ***** but mostly because I was learning stuff that wasn't interesting. I found that when you really love what you are doing ie computers there is no problem studying.

thanks for the cheers guys, hmmm I wonder if I will be older than the teacher? heh, and short skirts could be distracting! Well I'm going in to be tops in my class and to score high in the exams and also get my A+ during school so hopefully pull off decent starting job after school. At least the IT profession should keep you learning and the mind awake aye!
Also never got the paddle- my teachers and principal preferred the good ol' yardstick heh.
Good luck to the rest of you also!!!!!!!!

Good luck cyclone! You will do great and very much enjoy those younger people and all those skirts http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif There is a real mix of ages in my course, some right out of high school and others like me who can't even remember high school.
I started my MCSE course 2 weeks ago and am a bit overwhelmed with the reading but wrote my 1st test yesterday and got only 2 wrong out of 25 for a mark of 92%. I was pleased even tho I really only got one wrong but I didn't follow the rules as far as contesting the answer. By the time I mentioned it to someone I was told it was too late. Live and learn!
Have fun with the course, you'll make some great friends and contacts. Get used to reading and writing tests, this IT road is full of that.
