I need to get the correct driver for my modem on my laptop (Compaq e500). I found one at the compaq site but it's 1.9megs. Putting it on a floppy is out. I have win95 on the e500. Another e500 with win2k and a working modem. The question is how do I get the 95 connected to the 2k? (Iwant to download the driver info to the 2k machine and have the 95 connect to it and retrieve it) Does it matter that one is fat16 and the other ntfs? I am new to computers and really don't know a thing about networking. I'm not even sure I am posting this in the right place. ANY help will be gratefully accepted. Thanks.

There is an alternative to this. You can find many different shareware programs that will split file d/'s across multiple floppies. Go to www.zdnet.com (http://www.zdnet.com) and do a search for file splitters. I took a quick glance and found about 10 programs that will do what you want Its simply a matter of d/ling the files you need on to your good machine, running the splitter that will break the file up and span it over mult. floppies. It will put it back together on the other machine automatically. I hope this helps a lil bit !!! Good Luck, steve http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

'Backup' that comes with windows will alow you to parse large files onto 1.4 floppies.
