I have two nearly identical PCs,(pIII 500,128 mb ram, liksys 10/100 ethernet card) connected to Roadrunner through a Hub. One PC runs at around 200 bps and the other at around 550 bps.

What settings could be causing this size of a gap?

the one running at around 200 runs that speed wether or not its connected through the hub.

THe faster computer does have a video card with 32 mb of ram , the other has 16 ..but i dont think it would make that much difference.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

It could be lots of things. Check out this site and maybe you will bump into some difference in settings on one of the puters.
