Idea to jazz this site up

you guys probably asked for this, maybe, maybe not, but it'd really help if you had a chat room dedicated to the seperate forums (eg. chat room for general, chat for overclocking etc...) so we can talk to the person live, instead of waiting for a reply on the BBS. I understand we can use ICQ but sometimes, i don't want to DL that. You should add a chat room that has a private talk feature like in napster or onchat. Several members have inquired about the possiblity of a chat room. The last I knew, Scott hasn't received an official "yes" from Earth-Web.

I have also been thinking the same thing. What a great thing it would be to have live chats with other computer gurus, they could have a chat room for each different area of the BBS. One for Gereral Discission, one for Tech. Support, etc. I think it would be a great addition!

EarthWeb is undergoing a redesign effort. Resources are therefore otherwise allocated. Once the effort is complete, we should have a shot at getting chat implemented.

How bout one of the FREE Yahoo clubs? They have a pretty cool chatroom built in (w/voice abilty that works GREAT!), the reason why I suggest this is I have a migraine support group within Yahoo clubs with about 500 members in it, weve had great success w/the chatroom---all someone has to do is goto Yahoo clubs, come up w/a name for it, and mention it here a few times, and itl probably have people in it day and night---(at least till we have the ability here) http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I normally abhor chat rooms because of their ability to make a person completely waste their time. In this case I would make an exception. There would be some purpose for chatting if the idea was implemented here.
