Oops! Sorry, i forgot to post the most vital info! Im using Win98se on all comps, cat5 cable, Linksys 10/100 nic's, a Linksys Hub ( 5-port with uplink, comes with the kit.) If theres anything else, just ask!

What protocols are you using? Have you double check the "workgroup name" to make sure that they are EXACT (both in name and CaSe)

All computers workgroups are WORKGROUP, in caps of course, and my protocals are IPX, and TC/IP. Anything else?

Hi solidous,

The problem is located to the computer that doesn't see the two others. So, you have to search for a problem in that PC's network configuration. I haven't used 9x for a long time and so I don't remember exactly what should be in the Network Properties and what not. I think this is a problem with NetBIOS or WINS. Also, ansure that this PC belongs to the WORKGROUP and not somewhere "else" (eg. WORGROUP).

I've seen this problem on other computers. In all cases theese (one of the two) solutions worked:

1. Set a static IP to (all) computers. Win98se systems isn't very good in finding eachother, Static IP:s makes it easier.

2. Disable ACPI for the invisible computers. By some reason, some NIC:s don't want to cooperate with Win98se.

It sounds like you are just running a simple Windows peer-to-peer network. If you have NETBEUI protocol enabled you should not need a static IP address for each computer.

My question is: Do you have file sharing enabled and have you shared your drives?
