OT - WooooHoooo.....I'm driving again!!!!

Well, after almost two years, I'm driving again!! I finally got cleared for a medical, and got my car outfitted with hand controls.....just got back from a little test drive.....yeeeh-hahh!!

After my crash, one of the hardest things to deal with was not being able to just hop in the car and go where I wanted, but rather, having to rely on others for a ride all the time. This is like being given a new life!!

The only down side is my father has to give up the 'ole Supra and share the "foo-foo" with my mother again, heh, heh!!!

Sorry about this, but I am soooo happppy!!!

*Next thing to work on is rigging up a plane with full hand controls (no SysOpt, I'm not getting an Aircoupe!!) I gotta get flying again.....got no feeling down there, but I'm sure my feet are killing me!!

Thanks, everybody, for your kind words and encouragement. It means a lot. It's amazing how something as commonplace and taken for granted as driving, can be such a joy after being denied it for a while!

socalgal.....thanks! I'm thinking along the lines of a Stoddard Hamilton Glastar. I can't even get into my Mustang, and it's way to "twitchy" to put hand controls in anyways. With the Glastar I'd have relatively easy access, an easy airplane to fly, and one that I could haul my chair around in. It's also fast enough to be a viable x-country airplane.
