PimpedOutGimp 08-31-2000, 03:36 AM I would prefer soft router programs but i need pretty much anything that shares internet access and allows incoming signals such as for an FTP srever on one of the servers?? Mr.Goodbytes 08-31-2000, 02:33 PM Sygate works. I just accessed my friend's ftp on his win2k box. He uses Sygate to share ADSL over his network of 8 NT and Win2k machines. Sixpac 08-31-2000, 08:10 PM If you have a decent firewall there is a cheap (free!) product from http://www.analogx.com which is a proxy server program. It runs on your directly connected computer. I use it at home and works perfectly. *6pac* socalgal 08-31-2000, 10:16 PM Another thumbs up for Sygate! I'm running a dynamic IP/PPPoE with Earthlink, and after MONTHS of nothing working (software, Linksys router, ICS, pages upon pages of Internet connection & networking sites, forums, etc.), thanks to psyklone's suggestion of the newest Sygate 4 beta, I'm finally enjoying Internet Connection sharing. SyGateŽ Home Network 4.0 (http://www.sygate.com/default_old.htm) This has been a miracle solution for me. psyklone 09-01-2000, 02:52 PM sygate gets my vote for sure! and for anyone who's interested ... the version 4 is now out of beta and is an official release. i recommend uninstalling the beta if you have it already and then go to the site and download the version 4 full. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif RalphArch 09-01-2000, 03:55 PM I have sygate 3.1 and got several upgrades but don't use it. ICS works fine for my needs and was totally easy to set up. Plus it serves my Linux OS (CorelLinux Deluxe) without even configuration. (just loading from CD and had internet with dial on demand in linux). Maybe this would work with Sygate also but why spend the money? 2canSAM 09-03-2000, 09:38 AM I use Proxy+ by Fortech. I tried some of the others and to me this one seems the one with the most features and custimizations available. It is free for home use with 1 server and 3 clients. I took a little while to set, definitely read the manaul on this one, but I have never had any problems with it. You can download and read more at http://www.proxyplus.cz AMDClocker 09-13-2000, 09:58 AM OR..............you could get WINME it has built in internet shareing that works great ... AMDClocker cyclone2 09-14-2000, 01:50 AM I have used http://www.winproxy.com for a few weeks now and seems great to me. It comes with its own firewall too, though I may install ZAlarm to check its quality. 2 thumbs up http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif pfi 09-15-2000, 06:57 AM I am using a product called Jana, it's available for free/unlimited users. http://www.jana-server.ocm.de/Englisch/FrameSet.htm -p SysOpt.com
