If anyone could give me an idea on how to start this thing. i know the very little about it and its bothering me alot.
OK i have 2 Linksys's Network 10/100 Cards installed on a windows95 computer and a windows 98 computer. Now I know that you have to goto the network properties and insert an IP address and subnet mask but im not sure what to put in there.
What i want is to connect the two computers with the Cable going from one network card to the other. (i guess peer to peer)
But i dont know what to do from here. i'm not sure what ip addresses i need to use.
Im not going to share internet access. just want to share files and a printer.
If anyone out there could help out I'd really appreciate it. I'm new at this networking thing but i wnat to learn.
If you know about any websites out there that give you step by step instructions on how to do this i'd appreciate them also.
