cable ?

ok i have road runner cable and i was 1 of the first kids on the block 2 have it http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/biggrin.gif and at that time it was blazingly fast .but its a shared line and now that its been around 4 about a year in my area..it is getting noticeably slower http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif but im about 2 rent a new place, and im wondering if i get a place closer 2 the cable router, will i maybe get that blazing speed back? my thinking is that if im 1 of the 1st connections 2 that router then i should get 1 of the fastest connects....am i right or just wishful thinking?

I'm not sure about your question but how addicted are you when you have to move just to get closer to the router ??? ROTFL !!!

I live next to the local "hub" in my block and I too notice some slow down but noothing that would warrent a move or anything. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif But I think that is the nature of the beast. No matter where you are positioned in the area as long as there are others on the internet through cable you will get a slower connection. But you may get into an area where people haven't got cable yet. who knows huh?
In my area there are apartments that have t1 or similar lines going into them that they then share through all the apartments you may check into them unless you are moving into a house.
