I have no Network Neighborhood icon on my desktop on a new install of WIN98. Did a search & found 1 post about this subject. Tried the pointers to no avail. Will i need to do a install of Windows 98 over it self to get Network Neighborhood?

Does it still appear in Explore?

If so you should just be able to select a desktop shortcut for it.

Hope this helps

why exactly do you need a network neighborhood icon? i'm assuming it's because you're on a network and need to see other computers. if so, just go to control panel under network and click add -> client -> microsoft -> client for msn.

remember you'll need the windows CD.

Have you got TweakUI installed? If so the desktop icon may be unchecked. Usually a new install of Win98 automatically puts the network in. Puzzling.

Solved the problem by doing a reinstall of Windows. After reinstall,I went to TweakUI & enabled Network Neighborhood. Prior to reinstall Network Neighborhood was visible in TweakUI, but alas not on the desktop or in Explorer.
