Can a PI 100MHz(overclocked to 120MHz) with 96MB RAM be used as a server for a ADSL network? It will be running Lunix. Also, will it matter whether the NICs are on PCI or ISA buses? thanks in advance

Lots of people use 486's for that. I don't think the isa/pci nic issue will matter much. Also if you want to maximize your performance with it don't run X. camaro 09-01-2000, 12:29 AM What would you recommend to run on it? DougM 09-01-2000, 05:30 PM Not running X just means use the command line environment. I use a P75 and P133 with X and they are slow but work find, X just uses resources. You can always install X but just not start it up. PCI vs ISA shouldn't matter at aDSL speeds. brandon184 09-03-2000, 10:49 PM That system should be perfectly fine, standalone. - Brandon SysOpt.com
