I installed a network card into 2 computers and one of them works fine but the other one doesn't work, i dont think. i installed iton windows 95 and i didnt have the windoes 95 CD-ROM so when it asked me for it i pressed cancel but after that windows recognized it for some reason but when i try to connect to the other computer i cant browse the network at all.
I have a crossover cable from one PC to the Other and i made sure that the workgroup names were the same.
My IP address on the NIC's TCP/IP is 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 . the subnet mask on both computers is 255.255.255.0
so i dont know what can be up with it?
im guessing that windows didnt install the card correctly becasue i didnt have the windwos 95 CD. is their anyway to get around that? i have a windows 98 CD can I use that?
by the way the other computer works fine it just doesnt see my windows 95 computer on the network. it only see's itslef.
Can anyone help?
thanks a lot!!
