Windows files for neworking?

I tried to install a net work card on my windows 95 computer and it asks me for the windows 95 CD ,b ut i do not have it. is their any way i can get those files that i need from the windows 95 CD on the internet?

can i download them and put them on a disk and then use those instead of the windows 95 CD?

Or do i need the CD?

Off hand I'd say you need the CD. Maybe you could borrow one from a friend? Either that or find a copy on eBay, You never know someone in the forum might have a spare!

I got the windows 95 Cd-rom but now the computer that has windows 95 is not working. it starts in safe mode and it says that there was a "windows protection error , Restart your computer"

and it still doesnt work.

what could this be.

i had to take the neccessary files to install the NIC from another computer becasue when it asked me to inster teh Windows 95 CD i did but it couldn't find the files that it needed to install. i dont what the heck is wrong with it now?

this is really anoying.

and I cant upgrade it to windows 98 becasue the CD that i have for windows98 is not the "upgrade CD" that it asks me for. i have both the regular windows98 and the 98 SE CD's and i cant upgrade with any of them.

what can I do??

Hi again

When you were installing the files did you browse through all the folders on the 95 disk? I know I have had this sort of thing happen because the setup doesn't automatically go to the right folder to search.
It also might help to try and go back, clean out what you've done so far, and start fresh now that you have the CD.
Also, you should look at some of the past threads here to see if this hasn't been discussed before. I think there's a website called http://www.homepclan.com/ but I'll have to look it up. Check ya later!

Yeah i got it now thank.

i finally got it working but not i cant share my printer. file and printer sharing is enabled but for some reason the other computer does not recognize the printer that i have shared.

i dont know what i can be.
