They provide a honest service and they get get screwed for it. BTW: Gene you ever do any Snook or Tarpon fishing? What about Redfish? I read they are going to do a massive restock of Redfish in Tampa BAy. [This message has been edited by jad1097 (edited 04-29-2000).] Nathan 04-29-2000, 02:27 PM Thanks for the heads up Gene C. Looks like they will be in BK court soon. I wonder if they are going to appeal? oblivion 04-29-2000, 07:29 PM http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/icons/icon13.gif mgordon99 04-29-2000, 07:52 PM OK, I posted this news a day and a half ago and get 0 (ZERO) responses: http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/005934.html Guess it's the messenger and not the message..... bhess 04-29-2000, 07:54 PM jad1097, I haven't heard anything about restocking reds. It would be nice though. I remember when I was young you couldn't keep them off your hook! Joel Kleppinger 04-29-2000, 08:18 PM mgordon: style counts as well... and timing. Don't just put it all on a name... Wiz 04-29-2000, 08:34 PM mgordon, i doubt any of us look at thread originator, rather, we look at the title, and if it catches our attention, we read. Dont take offense to it. jad1097 04-30-2000, 09:30 AM bhess Here goes the link. (http://www.floridasportsman.com/confron/redfish.html) I have been trying to find out if the ban on inshore nets in 1995 have made a difference in the fishing in Florida since I will be returning home soon. garybeafl 04-30-2000, 02:36 PM A story in the Tampa Trib a few days ago said that redfish were released into Tampa Bay at the mouth of the Alafia river. I dont know the exact number but there were a lot. seti 04-30-2000, 03:20 PM The RIAA is FAR to powerful if you ask me. I'll spare you the borg analogies though. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif They don't control mp3, thus they fear and attack it. tonym 04-30-2000, 03:54 PM Listen, The RIAA has gone too far! I don't buy CD's any more. I listen to the radio or listen to music that I've purchased in the past. If people (consumers) wanted things to change, there'd be a moratorium on CD purchases (a 6 month time period would do just fine) and that would bring the RIAA to it's proverbial knees on this issue. Pressure from below (the consumer) and from above (the artists) would evoke change. But, we either don't care enough to do this or we can't collectively exert the self-control to do without the music. The rights of the artists to make a profit from their intelluctual property must be preserved. But the RIAA can't be music Nazis or Mafosi. They want a cut of all the action whether they're entitled to it or not. And it's obvious that just asking them to change and be less greedy just isn't going to work, so the consumer is going to have to resort to extraordinary measures to solve the problem. Just my $0.02... Tony jad1097 05-02-2000, 11:06 PM I second that Tony. If few or nobody bought no cd's for 6 months they would be willing to work something out. Glad to see they released some redfish. Mow I wonder if they have been doing anything like it in Florida bay or Biscayne bay. Gene C. 05-03-2000, 03:54 AM the man is on a roll now. I got napster. now I want my mp3 too. http://www.thestandard.com/article/display/0,1151,14708,00.html Gene C. 05-03-2000, 06:59 PM they knew it was comeing: http://www.pcworld.com/cgi-bin/pcwtoday?ID=16248 jad1097 05-03-2000, 07:31 PM What a bunch of fools these people are! "Metallica has always felt fans are family," said Hetfield, who stressed that the band has no problem with bootleg recordings of its concerts. Lars Ulrich, drummer for the heavy-metal band Metallica, suggested that the U.S. Congress should step in to stop MP3-swapping services like Napster "before this whole Internet thing runs amok." And I thought making "bootleg recordings" was illegal. What kind of double standard is that. What a group of money hungry imbeciles! I guess you find all of this amusing Gene. It is just a pathetic attempt by a band that has realized they have lost the little bit of talent they once had. Gene C. 05-03-2000, 08:22 PM no, not really. I think that they are just plain money hungry. this kinda stuff has gone on long before the web. how many of us recorded or taped our favorite bands and songs. I did even in the old 8 track days. I still got a room filled with the stuff. it's just that if they can't make the money one way. they have to make it another. and who better to dry you crying tears. than good old uncle sam. I know that I have boughten a bands stuff. just because I had heard one of there songs. and if I had a faster download connection. I'd have a room full of them to. this is just another way of seeing your tax dollars wasted in a court law suit. if they don't want them to be on the net. than take some of them millions and put a fix on there stuff. so as it can't be recorded. Gene C. 05-03-2000, 09:05 PM sorry to go on about this. but, I just had to add this site to the list. this is why I like it so much: http://www.zdnet.com/zdtv/screensavers/interact/story/0,3656,2557559,00.html now that is telling it like it is. I'd better format about ?????? harddrives. he he jad1097 05-03-2000, 09:20 PM You have to love the Screen savers. I wonder how much money we are going to spend on this. The FBI is going to get involved this month. seti 05-09-2000, 01:58 PM The RIAA's case against napster got past the preliminary hearing. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif http://www.theregister.co.uk/000509-000017.html SysOpt.com
