What's everyone's fav net browser?

Warthog

I use IE 5.0. I know, I know...everyone hates the big guy - Microsoft, but I don't see any advantages with Netscape. Actually several web site administrators that I know have said that it's a pain in the @$$ to make their web pages compatible with Netscape. They said they have to write the code exactly or it will screw up.

To each his own...

Well, I got Netscape with Bell Atlantic DSL, but I get a lot of crashes with it, so I use IE most of the time

IE5 and Netscape 4.61.

I mostly use IE5, but when I want to hit a site that requires lowered security settings (Java, cookies), I'll use Netscape as it's faster & easier to change the settings http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I don't crash much at all with either browser.

Gotta go with IE5 for the speed but I do like the ease of settings with Netscape 4+.
I don't like crashes and slow loading pages so I stay with IE5.
Now combine the two and we'll have something great!

I've had netscape since v2.0 ( don't remember how long) I prefer it. I really like the mail. I hate outlook and might drop netscape if there was a good mail program to replace it. (hint hint)

I like IE 5. I had netscape for a while, but it kept crashing on me.I have not found it necessary to use netscape for a couple of years now.

IE 5, some how Netscape seems to load webpages slow the first time I load, a lot slower than IE 5. Also I'm more familiar with IE 5.

Since I do online banking, I require 128-bit encryption. I use MSIE 5.0 because it's way more stable than the latest Netscape releases in the past 2 years.

I use IE 5.0 much faster than the rest. Also about the mail program if anyone is looking for something other than Outlook. I would recommend Eudora Pro. You can get a free version at their web site. I think it kicks Outlooks @$$!!!

Netscape 4.72, I have both Netscape and IE 5.0 loaded, contrary to most other people in this post I find pages load faster with Netscape. The only time I use IE 5.0 is when I use a free ISP called WorldShare, which is not very often, for some reason Netscape doesn't work well with this ISP, for me anyway, even though they say they support both browsers.

I use IE 5.01 mostly, but I also use Opera 4.0 as I like it's multipane interface and excellent speed/response.

I've always used Netscape and just recently tried to get used to IE5, but I still find it to be too bulky. The interface just doesn't seem to be as streamlined as NS.

Opera (www.opera.com) is my main browser; I keep IE around cause you can't seem to get rid of it. Opera is very fast and very configurable. It boots in a few seconds and my main screen has 9 (yes, nine) homepages tiled across the screen in three rows (3x3). It's designed with the user in mind, not corporate BS.

IE5 for the Full Screen option.

Internet Explorer 5.x
I also have Netscape 4.6 installed on my system but use it very rarely, about once a month, when I think a site may have problems with IE.

I use Netscape and probably always will. However, I'm not crazy about the email part. I really like 3.xx and before when it can to email. Communicator splits up the screen too much and you have to maximize and then minimize over and over (at least I do)...it's a pain. I suppose it's just my perception of the software, but you asked for my OPINION!

At work I use Outlook for email (and Netscape for browsing). I really like the setup with that. It's easy to sort/view mail with out splitting up the screen too much. I can view almost everything at once...not in parts.

I started out w/ netscape but I have come to prefer IE. I especially like the way I can shrink everything into a single line status bar. And stretching the ad bar off the screen turns my 17" monitor into a 19".

And Hotmail is too fast. I can send a message Hot to Hot while in Netmeeting and hear it's arrival tone on the other end in an instant. I use both Outlook Express and Outlook. Outlook has a great contact list, calendar, news & weather update, etc,etc... but it won't sync w/ Hotmail. Not for commercial use.
Anyway, to each his own.

BTW, don't you feel sorry for those people still using that AOL cartoon?

IE 5.01

Use to be a big Nescape fan. But the thing crashed way to much. Suggestion to make it crash a little less. For those running older versions of Netscape. Remove the Full Soft directory from netscape. It is no longer included in new releases of Netscape 4.7

IE all the way baby. Netscape takes soo long to open up, and it doesn't have near as many opetions as IE 5

Haven't had a crash in 12+ months that I could attribute to the browser!

Netscape 4.6 at home 4.72 now.. and i'm currently downloading 4.73. I haven't had a problem with Netscape since 4.02. for me it crashes less than IE 5.01, I don't like the email portion though http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Oh well can't have everything.

My preference is IE 5, it's a lot faster than Netscape 4.x. Netscape is a pain in the *** because it loads to slow. Netscape 6 is an improvement though, the Netscape 6 speed almsot matches with IE 5. That's what I think though...

IE5.

I'm trying NetCaptor 6 now. So far I like it. I can select a CaptorGroup and it opens up all my hardware sites. Then I can go between them easily useing tabs on the bottom.
