I have road runner, since the 19th of june my service has been slow to nonexistant.they have replaced my modem and nic.I get a cannot find server page.On the ip configuration page if I release all and then renew all I get a lease obtained date that is 24 hrs old with a lease expires date and time that is the present time.my question,is this my problem or is it road runners and what is the fix any way? its kind of tough trying to change forums or threads in 60 seconds after you release all and then renew all.thanks for any help you can give me.barry

here in Houston we have constant DHCP problems...don't bother calling the local tech support number. you probably know more than they do. call the national support number as that is the level 3 tech support.

FYI, I have a home network with RR and when I gave them the MAC address to the second PC they decommissioned the MAC/IP on the FIRST PC....it took me A WHOLE DAY on the phone with them to even figure this out....had very similar symptoms as you. It really does sound like they have inadvertently decommissioned your mac/ip. I was able to connect briefly and then get knocked off after 2 minutes or so...I would call them and DEMAND information on your addresses. It's not my nature to be a jerk, but I had to raise some hell to get anywhere with them. After about 12 hours, I was back up and have been cruising since.

I like the speed but Mediaone's RR support (like their cable service)is abysmal.

I agree with the earlier post - call the national support number for good support and don't take any ****.

Good Luck,
