I recently Installed Linux RedHat 6.1 on my PC and I am having so much dificulty geting around in it. And I am not talking about some major things, but sometihng like exploring network. I am sure my PC is on the network cuz I get Novell Border Menager when I try to go on Internet. And all this creates bunch of other issues liek setting up network printer, ec... I don't see any reason why would someone run Linux on home PC, it's not that great, acctualy it's pretty bad. So the only reason people are using it is cuz it's free. But anyway I would like to know few simple things on it like browsing network. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Please help!!!!!

I guess the better question is "How techy do you want to be?"

I know lots of people (such as employees from Misson Critical Linux) who prefer Linux at home.

These people are generally familliar with all the command line tweaks and such that are required to make things work smoothly. Unfortunately I'm not very knowledgeable at all when it comes to Linux. It appears you really do have to know the command line stuff to configure your machine. Once configured you should then be able to run apps and keep them running through the skill set you develop trying to adjust all those strange settings such as monitor refresh rate, mouse speed, etc.

ALSO: There is no such thing as Network Neighborhood with Linux. Try looking at the HOW TOs for SAMBA for starters

Ahh, a Windows user. If it stinks so bad, then you shouldn't waste precious time using it.
