I'm currently trying to find a CDRW. Does anyone have any comments on what would be the easiest and most reliable to use? I really don't think I want a SCSI drive but would be greatful for input there as well.

P.S. If anyone has one they'd like to get rid of I'd consider it.

Later...Dreadnaught

I would sound like a salesman but:
Plextor is probably the best cdrw. They make only scsi;
Yamaha, Ricoh, Sony or Teac. These are the most important manufacturers and almost every company uses one of their technology.
I just found out that these companies manufacture cdrecordable for everyone else. So, if you have a Memorex or Hp, you have the same cd recorder and rewritable with a different brand name.Marketing! You can get this info at cdfreaks.com

Thanx Antonio.

I'm kinda leaning towards the Yamaha 4x4x16. I'm also hearing alot of good things about the Mitsumi line and after reading your post I can understand why.

Thanx again...Dreadnaught

Maximum PC May99 rated the HP 9100i as the best EIDE CD-RW. (9 out of 10).
The Plextor got 10-10 but in SCSI only.

I have the Plextor 8/20 CD-R, the Plextor 4/2/20, both are absolutely the best, I also have the HP 8110i which is good for IDE. The Plextors are extremely fast and have yet to yield a coaster after 200 burns. The HP 2 coasters out of 12. The Plex 8/20 makes full CD under 9 minutes HP 35 minutes. If you have the money buy Plextor, bye the way they are releasing an 8/2/20 in about a month.

Well as usual, good advice at the right price. Thanks to all who have responded so far.

Relativitymc2...I could tell the Plextors were good simply by the price and the reputation that I've seen so far. I guess I'm just gonna have to save some more bucks and go on and buy the best.

You know the old saying "you get what you pay for!" I've always been a firm believer in it(to a point).

Thanx again...Paul
