VPN Problem

I have 4 desktops sharing a DSL connection via a hub & a Hawking 9225 router. I add my laptop from work, I get to the internet, but cannot get VPN to work. We use the Nortel Extranet Client. I wrote to Hawking & they said the Nortel client will not work with the router. I beleive it has to do with the IPsec it's using. I have a couple of thoughts & am wondering if they are worth pursuing.

One is a feature called visible computer on the router. Is anyone familiar with this? If I set up IP addressing and made the laptop the visible router, would that do it?

How about Internet Connection Sharing. If I did this in lieu of the router, would that work?
