http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif The king has just laid you down in the tombs to be burned....Hes gone mad I tell you.....I'll go fetch Gandalf.

http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I Love this book series. Got a new set for christmas and have just now got around to finishing the third one up. Can anyone else describe a good series that is along this line of story telling? I doubt there are any that can compare to these ( so I am slightly biased)?

BTW .....once Faramir responds feel free to close the thread...Lord knows I am a main proponent of keeping the topics computer related...I just wanted to let him know Hes about to die (or is he http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif ) in the book.

None can compare to LOTR series(and hobbit) really...............but there are some that come near(but none are as grand in scope, nor none will play upon your superstisions and fears the way LOTR will)........try Robert Jordan's "The Wheel Of Time" series for one, then maybe try a bit of R A Salvatore's tales of the dark elf "Drizzt Du' Urden"....

But you will never find any other that will compare to the world which JRR Tolkien will teach you of.............none will ever be as grand or as real and believable as his.

Also of worthy mention is Frank Herbert's Dune and some of the following books..................there are many others to note also, but these are some that have stuck out in my mind.

chipbgt... LOL--hey thanks-- I sure hope they don't change the story line or I'm a goner http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif I'm gonna need to dust off my books before the movies come out-- this is psyching me up, I can't wait.
