nt4 server networking

i am not connection with tcp ip, I am using ipx/spx, becanse my workstation (98 or 2000) does not see my nt unless ipx/spx is installed on both side. is there a extra protocal I need to install in nt4?

do I still need to define the gateway if I don;t have static ip for my internet connection? what about my dns?

Make sure 1 or more drives is shared on both systems, otherwise they will remain invisible. Try a DOS prompt ping command (c:\ping 192.168.0.1 -- insert your IP address of course). If you cant get a response then it is a physical connectivity problem although you did say they work using IPX. Also, make sure the computers are on the same workgroup. You can see this in Control panel/Network/Identification Tab. Fred
