MaxMTU issue with ADSL

Most everyone using dial-up ISP access to the internet has learned of the need to modify Win95's default settings for MTU, etc. I recently moved to ADSL access (ADSL modem attached to 3COM 10/100 ethernet card at T1 download speeds). Should I reset the Win95 values to the defaults (LAN type connection) or leave them modified with the smaller values that increased throughput when I was dialing in at 33.6?
