hmmm... that looks as if the K7S5A2 is a _version_ of the K7S5A, having a CNR riser slot (to take a modem+LAN combo card) instead of a modem-only AMR slot and onboard LAN. Doesn't look like a successor _revision_ to me.

The numbering also suggest stat. It follows ECS's scheme of putting a 2 or 3 behind different versions of the same thing, like with their new P4 mainboards where the 478-pin CPU version does not have a suffix number and the 423-pin ones have a "2". Equally, their K7VTA3 isn't their third attempt at building a KT266 board, it's one of three existing versions.

To make that clear: Versions does not equal Revisions.

I know of atleast three design versions of the base K7S5A design that ECS plans to manufacturer. Each is best suited for specific markets in terms of options offered or not offered for improved price scaling. Mostly an OEM or system integrator type of issue.
