I have been reading hardware forums all night so my brain is cluttered with tech info BIOS this and PCI that. I hate that feeling I get of knowing so little with all the reading I have done and with everything I have gone through. The feeling that I still have learned so little is frustrating. I know I have learned much but it seems so finite compared to all that I will need to know. In order to call myself a computer wizard / technician. What is a person to do? I am dumb founded every day. When realizing that there is so much to know and I truly know so little. It has only been a little more than six months since I began my journey. It is at times too over whelming. The only thing I can think of to do is read more. I just hope this feeling of idiocy will leave me soon!

If you knew everything then there would be no more challanges and the journey and fun would be over. The buzz you get is from the unknown and there is nothing wrong with there being alot of it. Infact it is better cos there is always something new and exciting that you want to learn about.
Don't be too eager to learn everything. Take it step by step and just enjoy the experience. I don't think anyone on this board would clain to know everything, that is kind of why we need this board so we can pool our knowledge and then together we can learn everything (nearly).
You are certainly not alone in your quest and we are all struggling along the same paths. So don't be too disheartened.

Here, here, Donkey!
Remember x35Agent:
"The sole purpose of education is to change empty minds into open ones."
No one person will ever know everything. Yes, you can become an "expert" at this or that or the other thing, but the key part of "expert" is knowing where to look for the answer, rather than spouting an answer that may or may not be correct.
Many educated, literate people are ignorant. Ingnorant in the fact that they suffer from "I Don't Know, Squared". They don't know that they don't know! School or study or reading isn't a ticket to knowledge...knowledge is a state of mind! You've got to pace yourself...cramming only works for an exam and then even with marginal results!! And don't expect to set a date when you'll be knowedgeable about a topic, computers in this case. It's a process and in time there'll be this subtle whisper that will tell you that "...hey, I'm getting this!"
Do not despair! I've worked with folks that have had honest-to-God moments of deep revelationa fter 10+ years of working in electronics and with computers. It will come for you. Just don't concentrate on the result so much, just try like hell to enjoy the SOJOURN there!!!
